Breathing deep of the air and the sky
The roar and sigh of the incoming tide
Embrace and entrance me like music and magic.
I am filled with life, with joy, with wonder
Like a child in the sunlit morning
When the world is perfect.

About Me
I am Ann Jenkins, welcome.
I worked for many years in education before taking a Master's degree in Education (Guidance and Counselling Skills) at Brunel University. This involved Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural approaches to counselling as well as group dynamics and mentoring.
During this time, I was mentoring both trainee and newly qualified teachers. Later I also mentored adolescents and co-wrote a mentoring handbook for a London Borough in 2003. I trained as a Counsellor at the Metanoia Institute in Ealing, west London where I gained a diploma in Person Centred Counselling. I then commenced my work as a Counsellor, qualifying for accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - BACP. As an accredited counsellor/psychotherapist I am listed on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors - UKRC.
I have counselled young people in Secondary Schools and within a Community Trust. I have also seen clients in a Women's Centre, a Black Mental Health Project and Employee Assistance Programmes as well as my own Private Practice which now includes hypnotherapy and life coaching. I have worked with people from varied age groups and cultural backgrounds.
I am interested in personal development, creativity, human potential and the effect that thought patterns can have on our lives. This has encouraged me to become involved in Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy, Life Coaching and focusing on positive solutions.
I trained as a Hypnotherapist at the Institute of Clinical Hypnosis in London qualifying with a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy- DCH and later with a diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy - DHP. I am registered with the General Hypnotherapy register incorporating the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. From this, I obtained a General Qualification in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy - GQHP. This professional body is encouraging a movement towards regulation for Hypnotherapists.
Finally, I was awarded a Life Coaching Certificate by Newcastle College. My experience of delivering related training includes Counselling Skills for Teachers, NVQ level 2 Counselling skills and Personal Development Workshops for Women.
