Confidence is not about pretending to be someone you are not. Some people are able to manufacture what appears to be a confident personality, confusing what they are putting out with real inner strength and self worth.
Confidence does not come from trying to be someone else but rather in accessing and accepting who you really are. Sometimes we learn behaviours because we think we might become more acceptable to others. In doing this we can lose our real talents and abilities as observed by the American Philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson, "We pain ourselves to please nobody'. Your real self is both unique and confident without any need for a façade. Authentic people are usually well received by others and if they are not, they are unlikely to become anxious or reactive. They remain authentic and do what they need to do. Authenticity brings a sense of peace and stability.
You can begin to explore your strengths and talents, you can understand your emotional world and begin to understand how valuable you are.
